Surfing coz It is Cool.

hi i wanted to know whats a good size power kite for me. im 160 pounds. i live in london UK and usually the wind is 10-20 mph here during winter. i want to use it for jumping and for buggy.

I’m looking for good knee pads that will fit comfortably. They absolutely must have the black plastic part so that they can slide across cement or any other type of surface.

I’m actually using them for kiteboarding, but will also use them for skating/longboarding and I figure nobody knows what kiteboarding is.

How can I make sure I am looking at the right size if I am buying the pads online?

The only way to get the right pads is to try them on to see if they fit comfortably. Any local skate shop should have different brands/models/sizes to try on. Good brands are Pro-Tec, 187, S-One, TSG and Pro Designed. Expect to pay at least $50 for a good set of knee pads.

I use Pro-Tec Park pads. The caps are replaceable, have a vented back and you don’t have to take off your shoes to put the on.

You also figured wrong. I’ve been kiteboarding for almost a year.

I have a Hi-Fly 700 windsurfing board that does not have a centerboard anymore and I’d like to replace it. Would this Allgaier Centerboard work/ is there anyway to replace my centerboard? Thanks

I am not familiar with the Hi-Fly 700 but it is very likely that this "universal" centerboard will work. My suggestion is that you confirm it contacting The House http://www.the-house.com/ag062zz.html or Hi-Fly at http://www.hifly.de/en/contact/ and ask them this same question. In any case, ask the seller if you can return it if it does not work.
The only question that remains is how superseded is the board you have, and if it is worth expending the money, although it is only $45.

As far as the daggerboard itself, it is very important to use a longboard with a daggerboard. The daggerboard DOES provide a lot a lift and it is very important for somebody learning, in order to be able to go upwind. Since the daggerboard is retractable, you can lift it when you go downwind or when you are planing sailing across the wind.
I sail longboards which are great for low wind days or cruising around the lake. I even compete in some regattas with triangular courses, and the daggerboard is one of the most important parts in the board to the point that I have two, one just for racing.
Even today’s beginner boards, although much shorter and wider than the older long boards, come with some type of daggerboard, fix or retractable.
