I would like to try kite surfing and wonder which power kite is the top one..Thanks
Agree with Sadem
and there is so much more to it than getting whichever one is the best.
The best thing you can do is go to your local kitesurfing shop and talk to them about it. Straight away they will know by looking at your size, build, body strength etc. They may choose a Cabrinha, Liquid Force or Ozone kite for you. More than likely they will strongly advise a trainer kite so that you get used to the way kites handle in various wind strengths etc.
Once you have 2/3 kites to choose from, perhaps go to eBay and find a better priced Beach Kite than your local store.

I’d be buying it as a gift for my fiance who has mentioned she wants one. I’ve just looked at a few shops and theres so many different types! If anyone could point me in the right direction I’d be very grateful. As for budget, I can’t really go above £300.
I got a Power kit from Cotswold uk for £50 its about 2 meters across i use it to pull my canoe.

I was flying a kite with my little sister and it flew into a power line. The string touched the ground and i pulled it away from the middle of the road and cut the string with a pair of scissors so no cars would run into it.
I didnt feel anything, but im afraid I could have internal damage possibly.
Nothing is wrong. You are fine, don’t let paranoia get to you.

The string will probably tear
The kite might get caught or tangle in a power line/stoplight/miscellaneous road signs
Might get pulled over
lmao but have you ever thought about that

I’m pretty sure that the electrical current of the wire, should have went through the kite’s string and into my hand killing me (The string was tied onto a plastic reel). It also rained a little that morning, and the power lines should have still been wet.
The better question is, "Why didn’t you let go, if you thought you might die?"
The kite string, unless it was carbon fiber, would not have conducted electricity under normal circumstances. And, also, most power lines are insulated with vinyl. When power lines go down, they are usually ripped in half by tree limbs, so the open conductor is exposed.
High tension wires (super high voltage) are not insulated.
Kite strings may conduct electricity in a rain storm, as the water in wet strings can conduct electricity.
Next time, don’t take a chance, just let go.

…fetch a stuck kite is extremely dangerous.
Because birds bones are hollow and the etricity does not bother them because of it. While metal can transferred the currents because it is more of a solid matter.
