im looking to get into the sport and was wondering if this package were a good deal.. http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/6977706 besides the trainer kite and lessons etc…. should i go big and buy something like this? i will be kiteboarding lower vancouver island

Actually, the ad should read, "Everything you need to start kitesurfing, except a wetsuit AND LESSONS." You really need to take lessons from a qualified instructor if you’re thinking about kitesurfing, because if you don’t know the safety features of your kite and your gear, you could get into some serious trouble. Harnessing a lot of wind with a 10 meter kite and no experience is not good.
Also, if you take a lesson (or two, or three), you’ll be able to figure out if it’s worth it for you to buy the gear. What if you try it and find out that kitesurfing isn’t for you? Then you’ll have to find someone else to buy your old equipment.
